As I think about this weeks PhD program I am encountered with many thoughts about my own ethnicity. First I know that being a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, what is commonly referred to as a WASP in ethnic circles, affects my understanding of Christianity in a rather minor way. About the only way that I've ever seen this affect me on a personal level is worship style preference, other than that, I pride myself in being as humble as I can with the acceptance of other ethnicities and their faith practices. I find this is a huge strength in the leadership in the context that I'm in. Living in Fayetteville amongst a community of believers that is very diverse from all of the country I've come to appreciate peoples backgrounds and strengths that they can bring to the table within this leadership context.
I have found that throughout this program, so far, time constraints have been a little pushed. I hope to utilize my time much better in the coming weeks as I strive to finish this first class.
